Alauda arvensis
When disturbed skylarks will rise straight up and hover high up on fluttering wings for a while..
..and if you care to watch this behaviour it gives you a crick in the neck and depending where the sun is - blindness.
Whilst on high they make a continuous rippling melodious song, before drifting back down to again disappear in the long grass..
..so you still won't get a decent picture of them (but maybe a 'descent' photo like this one).
